Amazing Builders

Music Appreciation: Jen Eyth

Students will explore classical compositions and be introduced to musical terms such as movement, tempo and pitch. We will engage in kinesthetic activities to experience the music. We will also create related art to our classical pieces and/or movements.

 

Nature Inspired Art: Melissa Hollinger

This semester students will create art projects inspired by picture book selections relating to the natural world. Topics will correspond with the current season and lessons will explore a topic while experiencing and practicing a variety of art techniques.

Blessed Composers

Out of the Box:  Mike Whartenby

This class explores the amazing things you can create with ordinary cardboard boxes. We'll transform boxes into robots, houses, animals, and even fantastical creatures. Learn basic construction techniques, experiment with different art materials, and develop your imagination as we build a world of cardboard wonders together.​

Cross Stitch: Christy Mandes

Students will learn the basics of cross stitching. They will start with a beginner project, where they will learn a basic half stitch. Their next project will include learning to read a pattern, completing a full stitch & learning to secure their stitches.​

Clever Designers

Young Entrepreneurs - From Idea to Market: Mike Whartenby

This class will guide young students through the exciting world of commercial art and entrepreneurship. Students will learn the creative process behind developing a marketable product, from initial brainstorming and design to marketing and presentation.

Creating like the Masters: Amanda Panella

Each week the students will learn an artistic style of a different famous artist, and will create their own masterpieces using that artist's medium.

Dynamic Creators

Game Makers - Liz Whartenby

Students will explore the basic concepts of game theory and design their own table games. Components explored will be players, strategies, actions, and decision making for types of games such as cooperative vs non-cooperative games and zero sum vs. non-zero sum games.

Edible Art - Stacey Reed

We'll explore art through tasty creations. We will learn cake decorating techniques, create art on a dough of canvas, learn fun ways to cut/display fruit and vegetables. and many other ways to create tasty and fun treats.

Expressive Artists

Rug Making - Amy Layton

We will explore the history of rug making, and design, create, and finish original rugs of the student's choice using the punch needle technique.​​
